The owners of La Voie Lactée, both originally from the Hautes Pyrenees, chose to work with the architect Romain Thevenot to restore the resort’s former iconic hotel, La Crête Blanche. Today, La Voie Lactée is an enchanting boutique hotel. Twenty rooms welcome couples, families and friends at the foot of the largest playground and slopes in the French Pyrenees.

Enjoy the lovely spa area and relax in the sauna or a hot tub on the terrace, or an expert massage.

Local sourcing

We sourced upcycled, vintage furniture in an effort to create modern and contemporary decor with a mountain-style vibe. We work with local suppliers and farmers (Abadie Farm, Torréfacteur Pellezzari [coffee roaster], Brasserie des Pics, Charcuterie Ospital, Les P’tits jus d’Argi, and many others).

From the amenities (Pyrenees La Carde woollen throws, Pyrenex duvets and pillows) to the many foods and drinks served at the Milky Way, regional products are in the spotlight. The bathroom sinks are made from recycled plastic materials by the Resak workshop. We also have a partnership with the Water Family Du Flocon à la Vague association, which educates and raises awareness about environmental protection.

La Voie Lactée is located on Avenue du Tourmalet, in the heart of La Mongie, where you’ll feel the vibe of the resort with its shops, bars, restaurants and ski schools. Perched at 1,800 metres, La Mongie is a true ski-in/ski-out resort, a convenience that you’ll definitely appreciate.

In the summer season, it’s always lively and exciting, with skiers giving way to cyclists and hikers.

The 20 rooms are welcoming and warm, with all the necessary comfort and amenities, plus a magnificent view of the mountains. Ideal for a night of restful sleep after a day in the great outdoors. Natural materials, such as wood and wool, are in the spotlight. They emphasise the warm and soothing character of the decor and its colours. Our rounded bathrooms are conducive to relaxation and provide a truly comfortable setting.

Winter sports, hiking and relaxation – you’ll never be bored in La Mongie, not even for a minute. You’ll need to stay at the hotel several times to try out all the activities offered by the resort! Alpine skiing, snowboarding, sledding and snowshoeing are some of the classics, but you can also go dog sledding or snowmobiling. Or even more unusual, try the zip wire or ice climbing – guaranteed thrills! A major attraction in the region is the breath-taking view from the Pic du Midi.
