In winter, winter sports enthusiasts get together to ski and snowboard on the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees. Combined with Barèges, Grand Tourmalet offers over 100 km of downhill slopes and vast off-trail terrain, including the Pic du Midi slope, ranked among the 50 most beautiful freeride sites in the world. Discover the beautiful snow-covered landscapes thanks to cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. For an even more original activity, you can also go dog sledding or, at nightfall, snowmobiling.

In summer, hikers and bikers gather to walk the mountain paths and follow the legendary cycling ascents of the Tour de France, the Col d’Aspin and the famous Col du Tourmalet.

La Mongie is a fun and lively family-friendly resort with several shops, restaurants and bars. You’re right at the foot of the slopes and close to all activities, in both summer and winter.After a day outdoors, evenings are also lively, especially during the winter season. Torchlight night skiing, snow groomer and snowmobile rides are organised for holidaymakers’ enjoyment. Nightfall is also the perfect time to make an extraordinary trip to the summit of the Pic du Midi, aboard the La Mongie cable car to watch the stars.

In a dark sky park at an altitude of 2,877 metres, you’ll feel as if you’re touching the stars. The ascent is also done by day to discover an incredible view overlooking 300 km of the Pyrenees Mountains (in clear weather).
